Downloading Music
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”- Click the Download button on any track or stem
- FreeMix shows you the license acknowledgment — a clear summary of what the license allows and requires
- Acknowledge the license terms
- The download starts — you get the original uploaded audio file (not a compressed preview)
What the License Acknowledgment Tells You
Section titled “What the License Acknowledgment Tells You”Before every download, you’ll see:
- The license tier and what it permits (remix, commercial use, performance, etc.)
- Any modifiers — Credit required? Royalty percentage? ShareAlike? NoAI?
- A plain-language summary of what you can do and what you cannot do under this license
This ensures you always know the terms before you use someone’s music.
Downloading Stems
Section titled “Downloading Stems”On a track detail page, if the artist provided stems, each stem has its own download button and waveform player. You can download stems individually — the license applies to the stems as well as the track.
Downloading Samples
Section titled “Downloading Samples”Individual samples can be downloaded from the collection page. Use “Download All” to grab every sample in a collection at once.
